MDP - Medium Density Particleboard – is formed by three layers of wood chips, usually Pinus, the two outer layers being of small weight and the inner layer being of a larger weight. This separation of chips gives dimensional stability, sound insulation and resistance against warping and deformation. In the furniture industry, MDP is used in rectilinear furniture, in which there is no machining – tables, cabinets, counters – and especially in which there is need of mechanical resistance.
